Netcode is run solely by me, Duncan Muir. I’m committed to producing modern, cross platform websites using Open-Source software and programming languages, and Web Standards as defined by the W3C. I even use Linux, a powerful Open-Source operating system, on my desktop PC.

Unless you really do just want a simple static website consisting of a few pages, I will create your site using Open-Source web applications. These powerful programs are used, developed, and refined by thousands of enthusiastic individuals around the world and have there own sites consisting of support and documentation sections if you need help using your new site. Because they provide the core elements of a website I can build your site more quickly (and therefore cheaply) and it will be more robust than if started from scratch.

I understand that content is more important than ’slickness’. Of course, I will make sure your site looks smart and professional but I will not go down the route many designers do of using self indulgent eye candy in the form of flashy animations, avant gardé graphic design that soon becomes tiresome, or intricate navigation systems no-one can fathom. I believe a website should be functional in providing content not a piece of abstract modern art designed to satisfy the designer’s ego! With the ever-growing number of websites online it is vital that your site can be easily read by search engines. Search engines ignore graphics and flashy gimmicks but love well written and informative text.

In summary, I provide you with the means of creating your own website content as you, rather than a website developer, are best placed to create the site you want.
